IT / OT Engineer

About this role.

Do you enjoy working with networks, infrastructure, and industrial systems? At iAUTOMATION and OT Security Hub, we are looking for an IT / OT Engineer who will work on industrial networks, automation systems, and cybersecurity within production environments.

Do you mainly have experience in IT and little experience with industrial automation or OT environments? No problem. We train our own people and offer you the opportunity to further develop within industrial automation and OT networks.

iAUTOMATION and OT Security Hub design and deliver automation and cybersecurity solutions for industrial processes. We work for clients in industries such as pharmaceuticals, energy, chemicals, and food production. Our projects range from new builds and upgrades to migrations, service activities, and securing industrial networks and OT environments.

You will work closely with automation engineers and IT specialists to realize stable, secure, and future-proof IT and OT infrastructures.

What will you do?

In this role, you design and configure IT and OT networks within industrial environments. You set up and manage firewalls, ensuring a secure and stable network infrastructure.

You install and manage servers, workstations, and virtualization environments, and configure industrial switches and firewalls. You will work closely with automation engineers and support them with network and system configurations.

You play an important role in implementing cybersecurity measures within industrial networks and contribute to system migrations, upgrades, and new installations.

When issues arise, you analyze the root cause and provide effective solutions. You also document network architectures and configurations carefully, ensuring knowledge is captured and shared within the team.

Technologies we work with
Within our projects, you will work with a wide range of technologies, including industrial networks such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus TCP, as well as firewalls and network security solutions. You will be involved in VLAN segmentation and designing network architectures. In addition, you will work with Windows Server and virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V, as well as industrial switches, routers, and SCADA and automation systems.

What knowledge and experience do we ask for?

We are looking for motivated engineers with a passion for IT and industrial automation. Do you have an MBO-4 or HBO degree, for example in:

  • Computer Science
  • Network Management / IT Management
  • Technical Computer Science
  • Industrial Automation
  • Cyber Security
    or a comparable field?

You have a strong interest in IT infrastructures and feel at home in an environment where technology and industry come together. With your basic knowledge of networks, servers, or IT systems, you can quickly identify connections and analyze and solve problems. You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with both colleagues and clients, in Dutch and English.

Do you also have experience with topics such as routing, switching, and VLANs, firewalls and network security, Windows Server or virtualization?
