First Level Support Engineer

About this role.
As a First Level Support Engineer, you are the first point of contact for customers and colleagues regarding software-related questions and issues. You analyze incoming requests, provide solutions where possible, and ensure that incidents are properly registered and followed up.
iAUTOMATION develops and delivers automation solutions for industrial processes. We work with clients in industries such as pharmaceuticals, energy, chemicals, and food production. Our projects range from new builds and upgrades to migrations and service activities for existing installations.
You will work closely with automation engineers and other specialists within iAUTOMATION to resolve technical issues efficiently and ensure systems are quickly operational again. You will also have regular contact with customers, supporting them in the use of software and automation systems.

What will you do?
In this role, you are the first point of contact for customers with software-related support questions. You carefully register incidents in the ticketing system and ensure proper and timely follow-up.
You analyze and resolve common software issues and support customers with the installation, configuration, and use of applications. When issues become more complex, you collaborate with engineering teams to find suitable solutions.
You also monitor systems and identify potential issues at an early stage. You document solutions and procedures in the knowledge base, ensuring knowledge is captured and shared within the team.
In addition, you support small software changes and configurations and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes.

What knowledge and experience do we ask for?
We are looking for motivated engineers with a passion for IT and industrial automation. Do you have an MBO-4 or HBO degree, for example in:
- Computer Science
- Software Engineering
- IT Management
- Industrial Automation
- or a comparable field
You have basic knowledge of software applications, IT systems, and networks, enabling you to quickly understand issues and contribute to effective solutions. With your analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, you can approach issues in a structured way and achieve solid results.
You are customer- and service-oriented and find it important to support users effectively. Thanks to your strong communication skills, you can interact clearly and professionally with both customers and colleagues. You have a good command of both Dutch and English.
